This medicine is effective in helping men overcome premature ejaculation by delaying ejaculation during sex.
Priligy is used to treat premature ejaculation by increasing the time it takes, as well as improving the user's control over ejaculation
What is Premature Ejaculation?
Premature ejaculation (PE) is a distressing male sexual dysfunction that can be present from the first sexual encounter or can develop later in life. Men with premature ejaculation appear to go through the same process of ejaculation as other men, but it happens more quickly and with a reduced feeling of control. A combination of physiological and psychological factors is believed to impact on ejaculatory latency, and research suggests that serotonin plays a central role. The negative consequences of premature ejaculation are significant they cause: sexual dissatisfaction, personal distress, interpersonal difficulty, low self-esteem, and they may affect partner satisfaction.
What is Priligy?
Priligy is used to treat premature ejaculation by increasing the time it takes, as well as improving the user's control over ejaculation.
How does Priligy work?
Priligy contains an active substance called ‘dapoxetine’. It belongs to a group of medicines called ‘selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors’ (SSRIs). It works by changing the levels of a chemical called serotonin in the brain. Increases in serotonin levels, in turn, delay ejaculation.
Take one tablet approximately 1 to 3 hours prior to sexual activity. (30mg) is the starting dose for all patients.
It is recommended that tablets be taken with at least one full glass of water. Priligy may be taken with or without food.
Priligy is not intended for continuous daily use. Priligy should be taken only when sexual activity is anticipated. Priligy must not be taken more frequently than once every 24 hours.
The most common side effects are:
nausea, dizziness, headache and diarrhoea.
