This medicine is effective in treating patients suffering from a long-term skin condition called Acne.
Isotrexin gel is an effective treatment for mild to moderate acne. It can be used on its own or with other creams, gels or antibiotic tablets.
What is Isotrexin Gel?
Isotrexin Gel is an effective treatment for mild to moderate acne. It can be used on its own or with other creams, gels or antibiotic tablets.
Isotrexin Gel contains the active ingredient isotretinoin, a medicine that belongs to the group of retinoids. Retinoids are derivatives of vitamin A.
How does Isotrexin Gel work?
Isotretinoin, when applied to the skin, is thought to loosen the cells in the skin’s surface, helping to unblock pores to allow the skin’s natural oil producing glands to function normally.
Isotretinoin also increases the turnover of the skin cells, aiding in the natural exfoliation of the outer layers of the skin. This also helps in unblocking pores and decreases the formation of blackheads and spots.
Isotretinoin helps in reducing the inflammation in the skin.
What are the benefits of using Isotrexin Gel?
The main benefit of using Isotrexin Gel is its ability to treat acne by loosening the cells in the surface of the skin to help unblock the pores, which allow the natural oil producing glands to function normally.
Isotrexin gel is effective in decreasing the formation of blackheads and spots and in reducing the inflammation of the skin.
Isotrexin gel should be used once or twice daily, depending on response. Most people should start using Isotrexin once daily and then slowly try to increase this to twice daily, if necessary, after around one week of treatment if there have been no side effects. Use continuously for up to THREE months.
After three months, you should take a break of around two weeks to assess your treatment and then treatment can be restarted, if necessary.
